In 1923, during the tenure of Headmaster Alvan P. Duerr the name was changed to The Storm King School, deriving from the situation of the school on the northern slopes of the mountain. The School has two boys dorms and two girls dorms, McConnell, Dempsey, Highmount, and Cottage.
